MP Warns of Impostors

Agriculture Minister and Minister for Maprik John Simon has warned his people to be wary of impostors claiming to be executives of political parties.

This comes after the MP received reports of imposters visiting villagers promising thousands of kina to be deposited into their accounts if they register with them for a fee of K50.

In his recent visit electoral visit to the District, advocated his people not to listen to anyone claiming to be Pangu Party Executives.

Pangu Party General Secretary Morris Tovebae also shared a similar sentiment adding that the current Pangu Party Executive is Jack Mathew Akika and anyone apart from Mr. Akika will be arrested and charged.

Meanwhile, Registrar of Political Parties, Dr. Alphonse Gelu said people must not listen to anyone claiming to represent a party and pay fees to these people.

He said the registry has been encouraging parties to enlist members; however, those that register membership must wear proper IDs and prior to the registration, must inform the people in the District that registration of membership in the District will take place.
