By Merilyn Diau-Katam – EMTV Online Acting Justice, John Richie Bernaud Kaumi, has been appointed as a substantive Judge of the Supreme and National Courts on a ten-year term. This was announced by the Chairman of Judicial and Legal Services Commission and Attorney General Alfred Manase. Acting Justice Kaumi took up the posting of resident Judge in Tari early this year, following the passing of late Justice Martin Ipang last year. Meanwhile, the Judicial and Legal Services Commission has also renewed the appointments of two serving Judges of both the Supreme and National Courts. Justice Ere Kariko has been reappointed for another term of ten years, while Justice David Cannings has been reappointed for another term of three years. Attorney General Manase said the appointments were made during a meeting held last Wednesday, May 15th. ]]>
