The Mineral Resources Authority has a new board Chairman, Benny Kimisive.
The appointment of Mr Kimisive as the Chairman was announced by the Mining Minister Johnson Tuke on last Friday here in Port Moresby.
Mr Kimisive’s appointment was made by the National Executive Council recently. MRA’s Managing Director Jerry Garry says the new Chairman’s experiences and foresight would be instrumental in guiding the authority especially in terms of governance, management and technical aspects for MRA’s operations.
Mr. Garry said the Chairman’s experiences and foresight would be instrumental in guiding the authority especially in terms of governance, management and to some level technical aspects the MRA’s operations.
The MD said the Chairman was also a member of the Mining Advisory Council (MAC), and would resign in due course to take up
his new role. The Chairman heads a five member board that represents various Government departments and as an ex-officio.
