22 participants from TVET colleges graduated with diploma in leadership & management

Twenty-two participants from 11 National TVET colleges graduated with Diplomas in Leadership and Management. As an initiative of the Papua New Guinea-Australia Partnership, the program was launched in 2017, and facilitated by the IEA college of TAFE.

With the goal of enhancing the leadership and management of TVET colleges in the country, the 22 participants completed the program with skills needed to provide leadership in TVET programs, as well as contributing to the development of a skilled workforce for PNG industry.

After 18-months of training facilitated by the IEA college of TAFE, the 22 participants from 11 National TVET colleges received their diplomas in Leadership and Management.

Acting Deputy Secretary for the National Department of Education, Wini Leka, acknowledged the current partnership between PNG and Australia which saw the completion of this program.

Mr. Leka added that since their enrolment, all 22 participants have passed the 12 units in the leadership and management course.

From the 22 participants, seven are women who are pioneers with leadership and management in TVET.
