National Weather Service issues warning for tropical cyclone

The National Weather Service has issued a warning across PNG to brace for Tropical Cyclone Trevor.

Heavy rain, showers and thunderstorms causing flooding and landslides associated with the monsoon trough will be experienced in some areas of Southern, Momase, Highlands and New Guinea islands region.

National Weather service said the effects of tropical Cyclone Trevor expected to last the whole week.

Meanwhile, in the nation’s capital the monsoon rain and tropical Cyclone Trevor is expected to test the city drainage system, as several business houses, residential area and public roads were flooded in the past days.
