As part of NCD’s Governor’s Christmas program for this year, this week started with the Cinema Christmas Program for children living in the naiton’s capital.
Governor Parkop’s aim for this program is for the children to watch a good movie or a Christmas movie and have a great time. The Cinema Christmas’ Program for the children was introduced by the office of the NCD Governor, Powes Parkop, in 2014 in partnership with Paradise Cinema. So far, almost three thousand children have benefit from this program.
This year’s program will see about one thousand children participating. Governor Parkop said his aim for this program is to make this city a city for children. He said it is important to create an environment that is creative in order to develop the mindset of the children.
Yesterday’s program at the cinema had kids from Koki and Sabama, and today it had kids from the Morata and Waigani area.
Governor Parkop said this program is especially for the children who come from backgrounds that cannot afford to go to the cinema. Through this program, they can watch a good movie, or a Christmas movie and have a great time.
Another partner of the program present was representatives from Ilimo Milk who sponsored one thousand milk bottles and a mascot for the cinema program.
Governor Parkop announced that the carols by the sea program will also commence on the coming Sunday at Ela Beach.
