Latter Day Saints Charities Donates Wheelchairs and Walking Aids

The Latter Day Saints Charities of Papua New Guinea presented wheelchairs and walking aids to the National Department of Health yesterday.

They presented 310 wheelchairs and 135 walking aids at a cost of about K187, 000, this is the third donation from the Latter Day Saints Church to the Health Department.

The Latter Day Saints Church started the wheelchair donation program in 2001, and have distributed more than 400 wheelchairs and walking aids in three lots of donations.

These wheelchairs and the walking aids will be distributed through the National Orthotic and Prosthetic Services in Port Moresby.

The wheelchairs and walking aids will be distributed for free, according to clinical assessment of the patients.

The Manager of the Health Facilities Standard Branch, Ambrose Kwaramb, assured Mr. Alembo that the report of the distribution of the wheelchairs and walking aids will be sent back to them.

The program ended with the exchange of certificates of donation and certificate of appreciation.
