With the opening up of road connections between Hela, Southern Highlands, and Mount Hagen, there are hopes that more relief supplies can be brought into affected areas.
According to Oil Search Managing Director, Peter Botten, the response from various stakeholders has been impressive.
Their base at Moro has become the distribution hub for relief supplies – with an estimated seventy thousand people across seventy villages already receiving relief supplies.
