Young Pacific Leaders Conference 2018

Papua New Guinea is being represented at the Young Pacific Leaders Conference.

This gathering convened by the U.S. Department of State and the East-West Center in Hawaii, is bringing together representatives from 18 Pacific Island countries to discuss issues relating to Education, Environment, Civic Leadership, and Economic & Social Development.

Banga Chris is PNG’s representative to this meeting.

Prior to his departure, Mr Chris met with the US Embassy in PNG for his briefing outlining his intention to share his experiences and also learn from his peers on the issues discussed to create change for the community and organization which he represents.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be given an opportunity to bid for US State Department grant funding for public service programs in their home countries.
