A market vendor in Port Moresby is also appealing to all citizens, to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

He says Christmas is a new beginning of evengelisation where each one of us, are called to become witnesses through our service.

And Papua New Guineans must celebrate Christmas with prayers of praise and thanksgiving.

Simon Hubert comes from Western Highlands Province and is one of the market vendors, who resells fruits like pineapple and watermelon to city residents and nearby communities along the 14 mile road, outside Port Moresby.

He told EMTV News, he earns more during the weekends including public holidays because this is when most city residents want to enjoy road trips along the Sogeri road.

During this Festive Season, Hubert has increased his stock of supply, to cater for customers demand, targeting mainly city residents.

Tonight and tomorrow, Hubert wants to celebrate a joyful and peaceful Christmas with his family.

Hubert has supported calls made earlier this week by the Royal PNG Constabulary and the Catholic Bishops Conference of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands for an alcohol-free Festivities.
