Community Development Department visits Bomana Prison

The Community Development Department concluded the 2017 fiscal year on a high and positive note.

They visited detainees of the Bomana Prison outside Port Moresby.

Departmental head, Anna Solomon, said the visit was timely with the joyful celebration of Christmas.

It was the close of government business for Papua New Guinea’s public service; and while most departments would have concluded the 2017 fiscal year peacefully and others go for their Christmas functions…for the community development department, it was a different approach…a different story.

Last week, the department led by secretary, Anna Solomon, visited the inmates.

Christmas gifts were donated to female inmates including sporting equipment to male inmates.

In the meantime, CS Commissioner, Michael Waipo, has acknowledged the Community Development Department for its effort in helping the prison.
