Joint Supervisory Body Meeting Tomorrow

The Joint Supervisory Body Meeting between the National and Autonomous Bougainville Governments is scheduled for tomorrow in Port Moresby.

This comes after concerns were raised on the continuous deferral, where the last JSB Meeting was held in Kokopo, East New Britain Province in May last year.

This month the United Nations also called for the meeting to be held before 2018.

One critical decision is the establishment of the Bougainville Referendum Commission and issues leading towards the 2019 referendum.

The Bougainville Affairs Minister said the JSB Meeting is important, as agreed for, in the Bougainville Peace Agreement, to address issues because the deadline is near.
