Telikom’s 4G LTE Network in Kimbe

Telecommunications company, Telikom PNG, has been promoting its new 4G LTE network services in the Nation’s Capital, as well as a few other centres in the country. Now it has gone to West New Britain’s township, Kimbe.

With just a few days away from hosting the 7th BSP PNG Games, it is timely that this service be available to residents of Kimbe town.

At the launch of the 4G LTE mobile service, Telikom PNG Acting CEO, Xavier Victor, appealed to the people of the small township to look after the network infrastructure and support them by using the 4G service.

[Telikom is a national company so I want you all to support us in maintaining our services here. Use our services too so that together we can grow this company – the company that belongs to the people of PNG.]

Also present at the event launching was West New Britain (WNB) Governor, Sasindran Muthuvel, who welcomed the service and expressed excitement at seeing state of the art modern mobile communications in his province.

“Nau kampani blong yumi long gavmen, State Enterpise, nau emi kam insait long displa maket na tu long kam first lain long kam launchim displa 4G netwok. Em olsem wanpla bikpela positive step. Yumi olgeta gat responsibility long sapotim kampani blong yumi,” Muthuvel commented at the launch,” Governor Muthuvel said.
[Now this state owned enterprise has come into the market and is the first to launch the 4G network service. It is a big positive step. We all now have the responsibility to support our company.]

He added that as long as Telikom can partner with the WNB provincial government to bring communication into rural areas, there can be counter to assist the Telecommunications company to rollout more towers.

A special launch offer was available for residents and visitors into Kimbe to purchase a handset and SIM package for K299.

The offer includes 5GB start up and a recharge bonus of K20 that will activate free 1GB every month thereafter.

The K20 recharge will also get the customer into the K1,000 cash giveaway competition.

Other provincial centres that the Telikom 4G LTE service is available include Madang, Morobe, Gulf and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
