Bougainville Police On Look Out

As part of the security operations to this year’s National General Elections, the Bougainville Police Service is on full alert of the extra ballot boxes claimed and believed to be surfacing around the country.

North-sub Commander of the Bougainville Police Service, Kingsley Lua told EMTV News in Buka that although these are rumours, police will act upon any given information to ensure a Safe, Free and Fair election.

“We have received information of these rumours but will treat them as serious and the Bougainville Police Service will ensure these ballot boxes do not enter the shores of Bougainville,” Commander Lua told EMTV News.

Lua said they want to maintain the integrity of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, delivering successful elections over time.

“We want to maintain our clean records of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville delivering yet another successful election,” Lua said.
