Flames Top Port Moresby Basketball League’s Premier Division

Lots of fireworks were expected in the top of the table clash between KSS and Emperador as the Port Moresby Basketball League’s Premier division ended round one last night.

Both sides were undefeated throughout the first round as a star-studded flames would take on a so far, tenacious Emperador side, who were looking at dominating the competition.

The first quarter would go the way of Flames, with a commanding 31-21 lead.

But by half time, Flames would find themselves 5 points behind, as Emperador went ahead 51-46. Steady concentration at the interval, Flames coach Moi Muri clearly unhappy with his sides in ability to fully control the match.

Opposition coach Eddie Salazar drilling in his tactical approach as Emperador fought to stay ahead.

The third quarter a mess of technical fouls as the match threatened to boil over.  Flames holding on for a narrow 87 -85 point win.
