Diamonds Maiden Take Win

The second week of the Hebou Shield competition saw a good turnaround from the Diamonds in the Women’s 40 over match against the Piranas. They won by 4 runs with 8 wickets intact on Thursday.

Batting first, the Piranas posted 8 for 190 in their allotted 40 overs. The Captain herself, Tanya Ruma executed one of her best performances yet to help widen the lead for the ladies in pink.

The Diamonds got off to a jittery start in the chase, losing two wickets in the third over. A Siaka-John partnership then turned the competition on its head for the purple ladies securing 77 and 93 runs apiece.

And a collective contribution from the middle and bottom order gave the Diamonds the upper hand. They eventually won with 2 for 194 after 27 overs.
