Police headquarters are currently working on plans to turn the burnt out Vocopoint police post in Lae into a water police base for the Lae Metropolitan Command.
Police Commissioner, Gari Baki, says the plan is to have a water police base for Lae command to help policemen deployed at the new maritime surveillance Centre.
The Maritime Surveillance Centre was launched yesterday.
