The National Government and the Autonomous Bougainville Government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will provide greater control over co-ordination and prioritisation of the draw-down of powers and functions from Waigani.
This commitment will enable smooth transfer in the transitional period, linked to capacity development.
The Autonomous Bougainville Government’s Pubic Utilities Minister, Robert Hamal Sawa thanked the National Government for realising the need and prepare Bougainville for the referendum date come 2019.
