Tari Town to See Facelift, says Governor Potape

Hela Governor, Francis Potape, says Tari town will undergo a facelift this year.

He said public amenities have been non-existent, including a proper market.

“In the past 10 years, no proper market or toilets were built by the Hela Government or town authority,” said Governor Potape.

“We now will build a new market and funding has been allocated in the 2017 budget,” said Potape.

The Hela Governor said now that the province has the money, proper planning for the Hela capital must happen.

Not much is happening in the home township of the host province of the multi-million PNG LNG Project; however, political leaders believe unity is the way forward for Hela to change.

“All leaders must come together and work for the good of Hela,” said Deputy Governor Thomas Potape.

“We own the PNG LNG Project, the province must develop like other places,” added Potape.

Governor Potape made this statement while passing the Hela Provincial Budget on Friday in Tari.
