While some players of NRL teams face repercussions for substance abuse, like Cronulla Sharks Fullback, Ben Barba, others like Rory Kostjasyn will not be in the line-up for the Knights for the first 6-rounds.
The newly recruited member of the Newcastle side will be undergoing surgery in the coming weeks, for a throat injury which occurred during training, two weeks ago.
The former Cowboys utility was accidentally elbowed on the throat and is still awaiting surgery.
According to Knights TV, Newcastle Physio, Tony Ayoub said, Kostjasyn surgery has been delayed due to swelling.
The 2017 season is 7 weeks away, and with the estimated recovery time frame of 12 weeks, the Knights are positive the youngster will make his debut in round 7 or 8 of the season.
