University of Goroka Announces Major Policy Shift on Fees

The University of Goroka has announced a major policy shift on the payment of fees for the 2017 academic year.

In a statement received by EMTV News, the University announced that for the first time, students will be required to pay fees direct from their personal bank accounts.

The change in policy is to stop the University from accumulating excess funds, and allow for students to pay the required amount.

The University also announced, that excess funds paid by Provincial Governments in 2017 will only be refunded to the State as it is State funds. This also applies to Corporate Entities who are sponsoring students.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Professor Musawe Sinebare has announced that the University is determined to start the year on a high note.

2017 also marks the 20th anniversary of UOG when it changed from a teachers college to a fully-fledged University in 1997.
