New PNG e-Commerce Company Robbed

YuEmBoss PNG Ltd, a Chinese ICT and E-Commerce Company, located at the 9-Mile area outside of Port Moresby was robbed by criminals in the early hours of this morning.

An estimated K900,000 worth of valuable properties and cash were stolen by armed thugs who broke into the company’s premises.

This comes a day after another Chinese businessman was robbed along the Hiritano Highway.

Workers said at 3 am, about 15 masked men went into the company premises, outnumbered, and held them at gunpoint, tied them up and seized their phones before entering the building.

“The thugs went into the back door which the gate was left opened. There was no evidence of a broken fence where the thugs would have entered the building. It’s thought that this may have been an inside job because the gate was opened,” they said.

The criminals accessed the building through the kitchen door, broke opened the main door then went upstairs and held up the company Director who were still in bed.

Company Director, Eric Lin, said it happened so fast they held him at gunpoint before they ransacked all valuable properties in the building.

Chief Executive Officer, Danny Linny, described the robbery as unfortunate saying the company had lost all its properties to the criminals.

This is the second robbery reported in Port Moresby.

Yesterday, a Chinese man was robbed at Laloki Bridge outside of Port Moresby. He also lost some substantial amount of cash.

Both matters have been reported to police and investigations are underway.
