2014 Just Play Program Targets Youngsters

The PNG Football Association is working on an Elite Academy program for soccer players between the aged of 16 and 17.

The program aims to create a pathway for youngsters to develop talent and skills on the field.

It initially started with the ‘Just Play’ program which involves children at an early age.

Youngsters were taught simple ball drills, game tactics and most importantly the rules of the game.

‘Just Play’ is designed and monitored by the Oceania Football Confederation.

It is an orientation program for children aged 6- 12 years old before they move into the next phase and that is the Elite Academy program.

The Elite Academy program is to create a pathway for teenagers to find spots in the sanctioned competitions like the Telikom National Soccer League.

The PNGFA Technical Department is now calling on interested players who have birth dates between 1998 and 1999 to come in your sporting gears to Bisini Soccer Ground tomorrow for a trial match.

For those born between 1996 and 1997 on Friday and year 2000 on following Monday.
