Cocoa and Copra have been leading agricultural produce in East New Britain over the years but soon another commodity is poised to tip the scale.
It’s oil palm.
The first tree planting ceremony for the Kairak oil Palm project took place over the weekend on Saturday, 20/10/12.
11 thousand jobs are expected to be created in the industry.
