Despite his season-ending shoulder injury, Billy Slater’s career will not end at just 278 games.
The injured Melbourne Storms fullback, who lost almost two seasons due to two consecutive injuries on the same shoulder, will make his comeback next month in the Melbourne Storm’s pre-season trials.
Though the team will not let Slater take any chances with the Auckland nines, Assistant Coach Jason Ryles said, the 33-year old will definitely be playing in the 13 vs 13 trials.
The shoulder injury has limited the fullback to only 8 games in the last two seasons and since opening old wounds last March, Auckland nines is totally out of the picture after the trials, as he awaits the 2017 season.
