The Western Highlands Provincial Covid-19 taskforce committee is putting most resources into awareness and capacity building as prevention measures against the Corona Virus.
A sum of K200, 000 is being invested into the response of COVID-19 in the Western Highlands Province.
These includes the campaigns of awareness in the rural areas in which health workers have travelled to these areas to spread awareness in regards to hygiene and social distancing to local Councillors, public servants and churches.
Up to 3,000 commute into WHP hence the aim of the COVID-19 committee aimed at awareness and capacity building in the rural areas.
Health workers who have undergone training supported by the International Red Cross Society have assisted by building the isolation and quarantine centre.
Western Highlands being the center and business hub of the Highlands region has a mobile population.
This has paused threat, but the Provincial Covid-19 committee is implementing tough control and preparedness measures.
