PNG Ports Corporation has come on board to support Wanderers Rugby Union Football club by presenting their jerseys in their 2014 Capital Rugby Union campaign.
The presentation was on an opportune time for business houses and supporters to pledge their support for the club which has fielded a team.
Renewing their sponsorship for the 2nd year, PNG Ports presented the Wanderers Rugby Union Football Club with jerseys for Men’s Premier, A-Grade and Women’s teams at a small but enthusiastic gathering in Port Moresby.
Being one of the seeded clubs in Port Moresby’s Capital Rugby Union competition, it is also embarking to develop and mold the young men and women of the club.
Building a proper structure for the club is one of the aims of this year’s club executives. With the support of former players, Patriots of Wanderers, they have utilized their networks to engage players in Community Service and Community Development programs.
Wanderers are placed at the top of the ladder in the Men’s Premier and B-Grade, and Women’s placed 6.
Former players, parents, business houses, and friends ended the night by pledging their support for the club.
PNG Ports and Jacks Electrical both pledged K5,000 respectively, and Rugby League patriot, and Member for Moresby North-East, Labi Amaiu also pledged his support of K10,000.
In round 5 this weekend, on Sunday, in the Men’s U-19s and A-Grade Division will see Wanderers take on Valley Hunters, the Premier Men’s and Women’s Matches, Wanderers will meet Nova respectively.
