Member for Rigo and Minister for Justice & Attorney General, Ano Pala, today presented two vehicles for market transport services to assist people in his electorate.
The vehicles cost K120,000 each and are expected to encourage the Rigo people to bring their goods to markets for income generation.
Rigo MP Ano Pala, handed over the two vehicles to their respective operators.
Senior Statesman Sir Makena Geno will manage one vehicle that will operate between Kwikila market and Gabagaba village.
Ola Numa will operate the other vehicle along the Hood Lagoon area.
Minister Pala said this assistance will boost the market business in the District.
The district will take care of the drivers’ allowance, while the managers will take care of the operational costs.
The areas that will now receive the transport service, are those that have in the past, struggled because of the lack and inconsistency of reliable transport services.
Minister Pala said both vehicles will be fitted with tracking systems to ensure they are operated within the designated areas.
