VAVA Wins “National Open&Youth Volleyball Title” For the 11th Consecutive Year

The Vava volleyball team has once again defended its National Open and Youth Volleyball title, for the 11 consecutive year.

Upon arrival from Lae, the team proudly displayed their trophies as victors accompanied by their long serving Captain, Ravu Mahuru, Coach, Tom Lui and their team President, Turaho Morea.

Vava Coach expressed his happiness over the team’s win and said that he had been confident throughout the competition and was overjoyed with the outcome.

In a week’s time, the team will travel to Gold coast for their high performance training following the U23 Australia Test competition in Canberra, then followed by the Goodwill Tour in Canberra. 

The team won various awards at the presentation, which include the best spiker award, the most valuable, the best server, the best setter trophy and the big victory cup of the tournament.

Captain, Ravu Mahuru, has been with team Vava since 2007 and is also the captain of the PNG Amoa National Men’s Team.
