Two policemen attached to the Central Province Police Rural Response Unit have been arrested and charged by NCD CID Homicide Squad over the death of a young man in Central Province.
The body of a young man was found close to Biotou village, Mekeo along the Hiritano Highway.
It is alledged that the young man was picked up by a passing police patrol, where he was later reported missing only for his decomposed body to be found a week later.
It was alleged that the Policemen are responsible for his death.
ACP NCD and CENTRAL Command, Anthony Wagambie Jr tasked the CID Boroko and Scene of Crime Detectives from Forensic Science Unit to head this investigation which resulted in the arrest.
While investigations continue, police still require state witnesses, who have been identified to prepared to give statements to the police investigations team if required.
Wagambie said his office and the CID are ensuring there is no interface in the investigation
