Papua New Guinea has recorded two need COVID-19 deaths in the last 24-hours bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 71.
Both deaths are from the Jiwaka province, increasing the number of deaths in the province to four.
Also in the last 24 hours, a total of 170 new cases were reported from 13 provinces, bringing the national total to 8,984.
All 22 PNG provinces have reported cases of COVID-19.
The country’s surveillance team continues to conduct data cleaning on the provincial tally so some provincial totals may not add up directly from yesterday’s numbers
