Tura the Kokomo is currently touring the Southern Highland Province as part of its country tour.
The 2015 Pacific Games Mascot began his tour of the province on Tuesday and spent the week visiting schools, stakeholders, sponsors and community groups in the province, sharing the games experience with the locals.
The mascot was given a VIP welcome in Mendi Town yesterday, with provincial government officials and BSP staff taking him around town on a motorcade.
Today, Tura was taken on a guided tour across Lake Kutubu and visited Kutubu Secondary School.
He also made a stop at Lake Ekari, where he met curious little kids who were amused by the big, fluffy bird.
Locals and students alike were excited to meet the mascot and didn’t miss an opportunity to take photos.
Tura wraps up his Southern Highlands Tour tomorrow and will head to Popondetta next week.
