To commemorate the International Persons Living with Disability (PLWD) Day, Trukai Industries Limited did a donation to the PNG Blind Services.
Trukai Industries donated ten 20kg bags of medium grain rice and a K5, 000 cheque was presented to the President of the PNG Blind services Rua Rara at 3-mile office in Port Moresby.
The assistance will help the organization on its daily operations and purchasing of assistive devices such as white cane for mobility.
When presenting the donations Trukai Marketing Manager Marryane Tom thanked the PNG Blind services for its services to the PLWD.
“We are very happy to support the PNG Blind Services especially during the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibilities Program we support not-for-profit organizations like the PNG Blind Services to help them progress their work in communities,” Tom said.
Ms Tom said, this is the start of the festive season donations that Trukai will be doing to charity organizations.
“This is the first donation for December and we will be donating to various prisons and charity organizations around the country as well. This is something that Trukai does every year during the festive season,” she said.
President of the PNG Blind Services Rua Rara thanked Trukai Industries for their support.
