The Royal Papua Yacht Club, played host to the Annual Trukai Fun-Run Auction.
Companies were encouraged to be very charitable in their contributions with the auctioneer, boosting bidder’s to raise their stakes. Lae City had raised a total of K200, 000, but companies in the capital, hit K197,000 halfway through.
Companies with successful bids would be allowed to display their own logo, or brand on the t-shirts themselves. Over 100 schools are the recipients of the Fun Run T-shirts with Port Moresby Grammar School, and the Police Recruits, being the big winners on the night.
Last year’s highest bidding went to the National Gaming Control Board, with K158,000, and this year, it was Security Plus, with K39, 000, who took the honour.
A total of K327,000, was raised with the funds going for team PNG, to participate in both the Commonwealth Games in Scotland, and the Youth Olympics in China.
This year’s Fun Run will be held in 12 different locations throughout the country, and is scheduled for the 22nd of June.
