Lae City will for the first time host the Telikom National Soccer League Grand Final
Debutants, Zilu Scientific Panamex Lae FC, will take on eight time champions Hekari United Football Club.
The game will be held at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium at 2pm tomorrow.
Lae FC as a new team was formed this year to participate in the semiprofessional competition with the aim to put another team for Morobe.
Lae are heading into the grandfinal with four straight wins to their credit, including the 3-2 nail biter over Oro FC in the first Semi-final held a week ago
The team has been hard in training with head coach Nare Orere having stated his faith in his players.
Hekari will see the old heads return. Their seasoned campaigners will be banking on the experience of season’s past.
Coach Jerry Allen, reluctant to give too much away, commended his own recruits for their focus.
Only Kema Jack and Ericksson Komeng have featured in all previous grand final appearances. Both Lae and Hekari will be out to make history in the NSL.
Lae as the first team to beat Hekari in a grandfinal, and Hekari an unprecedented 9th in a row title.
Hekari have scored 20 goals in all their grandfinals and conceded only two, and will be huge favourites to win.
