Team PNG To Nanjing For Youth Olympics

Following the Commonwealth Games return, PNG’s Golden Girl, Dika Toua, alongside Chef de Mission of team PNG, Alex Davani, departed for Nanjing today for the Youth Olympics.

Team PNG’s small but confident team of 8 who travelled out of the country today, are looking to gain as much experience and exposure as possible.

Team PNG’said their goodbyes at a small but comforting farewell earlier today at the Jackson’s International airport, as they disembarked on a fifteen day journey to Nanjing China, where they will continue to fly PNG’s flag, in the hope to maintain the PNG’s sporting legacy within the international arena.

Under the guidance and expertise of Chef de Mission, Alex Devani, the group of young talented and confident athletes, will be sure to perform to an exceptional standard.

These young athletes are privileged with the leadership of a well experienced team of officials; Andrew Lepani as General Manager and gold medallist Dika Toua, as Team Managering Coach.

Inspiring thousands of Papua New Guineans, Toua believes these athletes have what it takes. She said they have the experience of performing at such a prestigious level, and without a doubt, will continue to make the nation proud.
