Team Eastern Highlands Province comprises a strong team of 373 athletes who will take part in 17 sporting codes at the 6th BSP PNG Games in Lae. The team’s motto is “APO TRU AVE” meaning “you’re my true friend”.
Team EHP have set their sights on winning gold in bodybuilding, weightlifting, power lifting and boxing.
The young, Ratu Hou, is a very promising prospect for the team in athletics and will be out in full force on the tracks of Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium.
Current Miss South Pacific Bodybuilding champion, and Miss PNG Bodybuilding champion, Misa Acufa, a powerhouse Eastern Highland’s athlete, is sure to be one to watch in the games. She is bringing to the games, a wealth of experience and having just won the female South Pacific Bodybuilding title, at the championships held last month in Port Moresby, Misa is in great form for the games.
Eastern Highlands is the birthplace of the PNG Games and the team is all set to impress during the two weeks.
Misa Acufa will be the province’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony on Sunday 16 November.
