Sport Scene Episode – 9, 2014

Cricket PNG  achieved a milestone with the country now being given ‘One Day International’ Status and is now embarking on expanding the game to other parts of the country and on March the 4th, The Air Niugini National Regional Championships will be held in Port Moresby with 6 teams taking part in a T20 tournament.

Oro Fc were looking to put last weekends disappointing loss to Hekari to rest, when they welcomed Lae FC to town. and Gigira Laitepo Morobe had a highly engaging 1 – 1 draw with Admiralty while League Leaders Hekari beat Besta FC 3-1

 

AABA hosted its first even International fight night at the crown plaza hotel. The night featured  international and local bouts as PNG boys took the Australians on.

 

Monier Bava Park hosted the two-day Women’s National Provincial Championships, featuring teams from Lae, Madang, Bougainville AND a combined Highlands women’s Team, all took part.
