Enga Governor, Sir Peter Ipatas, says as a senior Highlands Leader and MP, he is committed to supporting the People’s National Congress party.
Sir Peter said today, he will fulfill his obligation as a senior leader, in the Government of Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.
The Enga Governor, who this week handed over the leadership to the party he founded, says he will maintain his alliance with the People’s Party because both parties have the same ideals and vision for development.
Sir Peter pledged his support to back sitting Prime Minister Peter O’Neill to form the next Government if re-elected.
“By standing for PNC I am showing my support for the numbers needed for the Governor-General to call on Peter O’Neill to form Government after the election” , said Sir Peter.
“I move to PNC leaving the People’s Party in safe and capable hands under the leadership of Jiwaka Governor, Dr. William Tongamp”, added Ipatas.
Sir Peter said, he will provide the direction that is needed for people of the Highlands in the next Parliament.
He attributed Dr. Tongamp to being a highly intelligent man from an emerging generation with strong leadership qualities.
