Residents in Port Moresby turned up in numbers today at the Apex Park to give their donations to the Southern Highlands Relief Fundraising for the Earthquake victims in the province.
PRK Mendi Muruks who are leading the fundraising activity also got support from the PNG Rugby Football League.
The first fundraising barbeque at Apex Park today received many support from city residents who dropped by to donate bags of clothes and money for the southern Highlands earthquake victims.
Pastor Issac Joseph who is the Chairman for PRK Mendi Muruks, leading the fundraising activity welcomed the donations from Port Moresby Residents.
Issac continued to urge city residents to donate over the week. He said a number and account details will also be published through the media for friends and families overseas to donate as well.
PNG Rugby League Football Ceo, Reatau Rau, also gave his support for the initiative taken by PRK Muruks and Mendi Rugby League football.
He congratulated the rugby clubs for their initiative and conveyed his condolences to the victims of the Earthquake.
