Allan Tira, an Air Niugini Engineer from Kokopo, East New Britain, has won the International Federation of Airworthiness (IFA) scholarship for training this year.
Tira is a Structures and Systems Engineer who was nominated by IFA for the Scholarship.
He is the second, following Geoffrey Atiken, the first Air Niugini staff to have won the scholarship in 1989.
Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Simon Foo, when congratulating his employee, encouraged Allan to share his knowledge and skills when returning back in the work place when he completes the course.
Under the scholarship, Tira will be traveling to Boeing Seattle Campus in Renton, USA in May, for a course on Aircraft Corrosion, Prevention and Control.
International Federation of Airworthiness or IFA Scholarship was established to offer IFA Members the opportunity to nominate individuals within their Organization, to receive airworthiness and safety training.
