Port Moresby Men’s Softball Grand Final this Weekend

By Elijah Lavett – EMTV Sports, Port Moresby

The Port Moresby men’s grand final will be held this weekend at the Bisini Diamonds. Defence and Brown Eagles will go to battle in the A grade division, while Yokomo will take on United Brothers in the B grade division. The diamonds is expected to be packed with supporters of both clubs.

Since Defence joined the Port Moresby Men’s softball competition, they have never made it to the grand final. The club has made history just by making it to the finals and are hoping to win their inaugural premiership.

Brown Eagles on the other hand will be fighting to defend their premiership. Eagles were winners in the 2017-2018 season, and will not be giving up their title that easily. Brown Eagles Captain, Martin ToAlbert, says though it will be difficult defending their title, the team is ready and will not take Defence lightly.

Team Defence has been looking forward to this opportunity for a very long time. They have always fallen short in past seasons.
Both teams have something to play for with one team trying to create history by winning their first tournament while the other trying to defend their premiership.

The match will be played on Saturday at 12pm at the Bisini Diamonds.
