Port Moresby men’s basketball competition over the weekend saw some great action in court with teams from around the Nation’s Capital.
With great hand work and good team work in court, Kutubu Services sponsored Southern Flames, opened the first game of the match with a game against Chariots.
The two teams had a very defensive game while looking for gaps to score.
Since last weekend’s competition, Flames continued their win over the weekend in the PNG Men’s Basketball League competition in Round 3 after opening the game with their first basket by an experienced Charles Parapa as his side continued their lead in the rest of the quarters.
While opposition had its new inclusion of the current and former international guard, Purari Muri and center Joe Elavo in the court, Flames were able to push Chariots, WHO’struggled to the limit as the boys went onto score a few more baskets in the first two quarters.
But Chariots had to work hard making their way slowly, sensing how hard the Flames were fighting to dominate the game.
With a strong wealth of experience in their players, the team mobilized well and played hard to beat under the watchful eyes of head coach Moi Muri, who is looking forward to enjoying another premiership with the team.
Playing well and balancing every opportunity in the court brought Flames out as winners beating their opposition 97 points to 87.
In the other matches, Exodus defeated Lamana Saints 90 points to 69, while Moni Plus Tamaraws beat West Jokes 94 points to 78.
