A weeklong border awareness by PNG Customs Services was launched on Monday in Vanimo.
Part of the opening of new border ports along the PNG-Indonesian border, PNG Customs officers will visit all villages along the border to inform them on the work of PNG Customs.
This includes the rollout of the new “Customs Counter Clearance System” which will allow for convenient customs clearance for people bringing goods into the country from Indonesia.
The awareness campaigns will also target schools in Vanimo. On Monday, they visited Vanimo Secondary were students were engaged in various activities.
The campaign started at Lido Village and will end in Wutung village on Friday.
