Music lovers in Port Moresby were treated to the neo-soul tunes of Papua New Guinean born singer, Ngaiire Joseph.
Opening Act: Isaiah ManoaIn what was a momentous homecoming for 32 year old Ngaiire, the singer headlined a mini-concert at a nightclub in Port Moresby, The Cosmopolitan.
Last night’s intimate performance, in front of a small but rambunctious crowd, left no doubt that this young woman can mesmerise an audience with her vocal prowess.
The singer performed a handful of her iconic hits, such as Diggin’ and Once from her 2nd studio album, Blastoma.
Ngaiire’s sound has been described as a combination of Mary J Blige and Erykah Badu’s voices, mixed with M.I.A’s genre-bending sensibility.
The singer was recently featured on EMTVs show, Point of View with Tania Nugent, sharing her journey from small town Rabaul, in East New Britain, to the big city lights of Sydney, Australia, where she is now based.
Opening for Ngaiire was Vocal Fusion season 3, second runner-up and current Battle of the Season’s contestant, Isaiah Manoa.
