PNG Air Donates Relief Supplies to Affected Areas Hit by Earthquake

By Jack Lapauve Jr – EMTV News, Port Moresby

PNG Air has dispatched their Dash 8 freighter with 3 tons of much-needed food and medical supplies for survivors of the Southern Highlands earthquake.

PNG Air Chairman, Murray Woo, says the freight has no charge to assist with people in need.

The donated supplies have been collected by Relief Coordination team and then dispatched to affected communities in Hela and Southern Highlands.

The airline company also passed their condolences to families of those affected by the recent disaster.

“We are a relatively small company but our staff feel strongly that we also need to play our part and this is one way that we can help. The donated supplies have been collected by Hela Earthquake Relief and then dispatched to our Cargo operation who sorted and prepared the goods for uplift. Staff and crew have given their time to make this happen and we are grateful for their support.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the recent disaster and we hope that in some small way we have contributed to getting their lives back to normal,” said Mr Woo.
