Colgate-Palmolive PNG Limited, has again come to the aid of the Port Moresby Cancer Relief Society. Since 2009, the Company has been supporting the society financially, and breast cancer awareness in the country.

In 2009, Colgate-Palmolive signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Port Moresby Cancer Relief Society, to assist them with breast cancer awareness in the country.
Since then, Colgate-Palmolive has been donating five toea of every product they sold in the month of October, to the Cancer Society.
Miss Mala said the money will help the cancer society to carry out cancer advocacy awareness using the media, which tells people of the importance of regular breast checks.
Port Moresby Cancer Relief Society representative, Ascenate Asi, was very thankful to the company, reaffirming their position to carry out awareness to fight cancer in PNG.
Miss Asi called on both male and female to come for breast check. She said it was unusual for PNG men to allow their breast check for signs of cancer but unfortunately, so far two men have been identified with lumps developing on their breast.
International statistics shows that one in nine women could be affected by cancer at any time and age.
However, this rate is higher in PNG and such ongoing initiative by Port Moresby Cancer Relief Society, will help people to go for early detection to prevent this killer disease.
