Orphans to School

Over 30 orphans and disadvantaged children from rural Bundi in Madang will be attending school this year, under a local community based organization’s education program.

These children who come from different villages in Bundi are being given the opportunity to attend school, under the Kumura Foundations, Educating Orphans of Bundi project.

On Sunday, they left Bundi on a 6- 8 hour trek to Chimbu, where they will be enrolled at the Denglagu Primary, and Maudra ACE school in Gembogl.

Foundation Director, Vincent Kumura said, while education is a child’s right, the struggle to educate children and orphans where government services aren’t accessed is a challenge.

Kumura thanked the Sir Brian Bell foundation, including others who have supported this cause, saying this is in the efforts to shape the minds of the next generation in PNG.
