Opposition Finances Kickboxing Title Fights

Powerhouse Promotions kickboxing team today was the proud recipient of a cheque worth one hundred thousand kina from the Opposition of Papua New Guinea.

Opposition leader and Vanimo Green MP, Belden Namah, was present to hand the cheque to Team leader, Rickson Yamo, in front of other fighters and the media.

 

Mr Namah said thriving Papua New Guineans with ambitions to represent their country should be supported to face the word.

 

He added that despite the Opposition lacks funding, support will be pulled off.

 

Namah called on the government to support the fighters as it is a world title fight and preparation to advance the PNG team is vital.

 

The funding was a relief for Team Leader, Rickson Yamo, and other fighters in leading up to the World Kickboxing Titles at the end of this month.

 

Yamo says the timely support comes handy has attempts of seeking support over the years was negative from relevant authorities.

 

The sponsorship will support the team’s preparation towards the title fights which will be staged on the 27th of July 2014 in the country.
