Oil Search PNG Orchids: Greater challenges lie ahead

The Chairperson of the Oil Search PNG Orchids, Ruth Waram, is still soaking in the win from last week. Yet, she believes the focus is geared up towards the rugby league world cup in two years’ time – the last minute try that changed the landscape of women’s rugby league in PNG, the win still fresh in memory, a week on.

The Oil Search PNG Orchids won their first game in the 13’s test match, creating history since the inception of the sponsorship package and the women’s team in 2017.

The win also levelled two match series with the third seed team in women’s rugby league.

Orchids Chairperson Waram, believes tha t greater challenges lie ahead in trying to maintaining the level of play and confidence in the national team. Preparations for the World Cup remains paramount.
